​​The museum’s map collection numbers over 1,200 items. The majority are Ordnance Survey maps, dating as far back as 1675, as well as the more familiar OS maps from 1875 onwards. Most are of the Somerset area, covering Aller to Yatton, but the collection includes other parts of England and Wales. The scale of the maps also varies greatly, from the traditional 1” : 1 mile maps, through to 1 : 10,000, 1 : 2,500 and 1 : 500
